निर्मित किया गया है जिसके दोनों ओर संपर्क मार्ग हैं। मेहराब दोहरी तिरछी ढाल वाले स्टील के त्रिकोणों से बना है। इसको आंतरिक रूप से कंकरीट भर के इस प्रकार बनाया गया है कि अधिक मजबूती के साथ-साथ सुंदरता भी बनी रहे। पुल के निर्माण में बेयरिंग की संख्या को कम किया गया है जिससे कम रखरखाव और निरीक्षण के साथ अधिक कार्यक्षमता को प्राप्त किया जा सके। पुल के खंभे कंकरीट के हैं। मेहराब के पास के खंभों का निर्माण भारतीय मानक जैसे कि भारतीय रेलवे मानक (आईआरएस), भारतीय सड़क कांग्रेस (आईआरसी) और भारतीय मानक (आईएसएस) के अनुरूप करने पर अपर्याप्तता की आशंका को ध्यान में रखते हुए चिनाब पुल के बड़े विस्तार के लिए ब्रिटिश मानक (बी.एस.) और यूरो जैसे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानकों का भी साथ लिया गया है ताकि अपेक्षित परिणाम प्राप्त हो सकें। उदाहरण के लिए, भारतीय रेलवे मानक (आई. आर. एस.) मुख्य रूप से 100 मीटर तक के बल गणना करके पुल पर पटरियों का विस्तार विस्फोट प्रतिरोधी डिजाइन का उपयोग बड़े आकार का सेतु होने के कारण इसकी गुणवत्ता के पहलू पर अधिक जोर दिया गया है। मानक के अनुरूप ज्यादातर स्वदेशी सामग्री का उपयोग
