कंगला महल

प्राचीन मणिपुर thumb|upright=2.5 thumb|200px|इम्फाल में कंगला महल का मुख्यद्वार कंगला महल (Kangla Palace) या कंगला किला (Kangla Fort) मणिपुर की राजधानी इम्फाल में स्थित एक पुराना महल (किला) है। यह इम्फाल नदी के दोनों (पूर्वी और पश्चिमी) किनारों पर विस्तृत है लेकिन अब इसके अधिकतर भाग के खंडहर ही बचे हैं। मणिपुरी भाषा में 'कंगला' का अर्थ 'सूखी भूमि' होता है और यह महल प्राचीनकाल में मणिपुर के मेइतेइ राजाओं का निवास हुआ करता था। सम्राट तंगजा लीला पखंगबा के शासनकाल १४४५ ईसा पूर्व (१५वीं शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व) से लेकर, कई राजवंशों के शासकों का राजकाज यहीं से चलता था। हालांकि महत्वपूर्ण उन्नत विकास नोंगडा लाइरेन पखंगबा (३३ ई. - १५३ ई.) के बाद के काल में आयोजित किया था। मणिपुर के प्राचीन इतिहास-ग्रंथ 'चैथारोल कुम्माबा' के अनुसार इस स्थान पर महल ३३ ईसवी से खड़ा था हालांकि यहाँ समय के साथ-साथ नए निर्माण होते रहे।Forts & Palaces of India: Sentinels of History, Bindu Manchanda, Page 137, Roli Books Private Limited, 2006, ISBN 9788174363817, ...
