को बचा लेता है। अमरेन्द्र उसे बता देता है कि वह कौन है और शिवगामी के क्रोध के भय को दूर करने और उसे अपनी दुल्हन बनने हेतु राजी करने की कोशिश करता है। जब वो माहिस्मति पहुँचता है, तब उसे गलतफहमी का पता चलता है। शिवगामी उसे सिंहासन या देवसेना में से किसी एक को चुनने बोलती है। वह देवसेना को चुनता है। इस कारण भल्लाल को वहाँ का राजा बना दिया जाता है और अमरेन्द्र को सेनापति पर फिर भी लोग उसे ही राजा मानते हैं। देवसेना की गोद भराई के लिए अमरेन्द्र को भल्लाल ने सेनापति के कार्य से छुट्टी दे दी थी, जिससे वह अपनी पत्नी के साथ रह सके। उसी समय देवसेना राजा भल्लाल के हेरफेर के खिलाफ बोलती है और शिवगामी के चुप रहने पर भी सवाल उठाती है। इस कारण झगड़ा शुरू हो जाता है और उन दोनों को महल से बाहर कर दिया जाता है। वह दोनों बाहर लोगों के बीच खुशी से जिन्दगी बिताने लगे थे, पर भल्लाल फिर से शिवगामी को भड़काता है कि अमरेन्द्र उसे मारना चाहता है और यह भी बोलता है कि यदि उसने सीधी कार्यवाही की तो गृह युद्ध शुरू हो सकता है। इस कारण शिवगामी उसकी सेवा करने वाले सेवक कटप्पा से बोलती है कि वह संकट में है और उसे अमरेन्द्र को मारना है। शिवगामी के कहने पर कटप्पा ने अमरेन्द्र की पीठ पर धोखे से हमला कर उसे मार दिया। फिर कटप्पा आ कर शिवगामी को सूचित करता है कि अमरेन्द्र बाहुबली की मौत हो गई है। देवसेना भी अपने बच्चे महेन्द्र बाहुबली के साथ वहाँ आती है और उसे भी इस बारे में पता चलता है। शिवगामी महल के बाहर घबराई हुई भीड़ को बताती है कि अमरेन्द्र मर चुका है और अब उसका पुत्र महेन्द्र बाहुबली नया राजा होगा। इसके बाद भल्लाल और उसके लोग मिलकर देवसेना और उसके बच्चे को पकड़ कर कारावास में डालने की कोशिश करते हैं। देवसेना अपने बच्चे को सिवगामी को सौंप देती है जो कि भागने में सफल रहती है, लेकिन देवसेना अपने आप को नहीं बचा पाती। उसे कैद कर लिया जाता है। 25 वर्ष बाद भल्लालदेव और अमरेन्द्र बाहुबली के पुत्र महेंद्र बाहुबली में भयंकर युद्ध होता है और इस युद्ध में भल्लालदेव की पराजय होती है। महेन्द्र बाहुबली का
