English
Etymology
Coined by Zosa Szajkowski, who believed it to be derived from he יְהוּדִית y'hudít Jewish [language], although this has shown to be spurious. The word that he based it on was in fact from en pro chuadit, a manuscript variant of pro chuadi in a poem written by a non-Jew, and is of unclear meaning.
Proper noun
An extinct Hebrew-script variant of Provençal used by Jews in France, also called Judeo-Provençal or Judeo-Comtadine.
