Etymology
From got gem-pro *-þuz. The related suffix gem-pro *-ōþuz is marginally attested in Gothic; only got 𐌼𐌰𐌽𐌽𐌹𐍃𐌺𐍉𐌳𐌿𐍃 appears to match completely, although got 𐌲𐌰𐌱𐌰𐌿𐍂𐌾𐍉𐌸𐌿𐍃, got 𐌰𐌿𐌷𐌾𐍉𐌳𐌿𐍃, got 𐌲𐌰𐌿𐌽𐍉𐌸𐌿𐍃 and got 𐍅𐍂𐌰𐍄𐍉𐌳𐌿𐍃 also could be interpreted as containing that suffix instead of bare -þus.got this needs to be resolved better. Miller 2019 talks about it on p. 339
This suffix is sometimes said to not have been productive in Gothic anymore, meaning that any word in which it is found would have to be an inherited term from Proto-Germanic.
