vi hàn xẻng to en weld en shovel, a jocular name for vi Hàn Quốc, based on vi cuốc en hoe, which is homophonous with vi quốc nation, country in Northern dialects, and its usual en semantic field companion vi xẻng shovel. See also vi cuốc xẻng hoe and shovel.
