Etymology
The nearby promontory on which the homonymous lighthouse was built was originally called fr Pointe aux Morts Point of the Dead, Dead Men's Point, from which the element fr pointe was replaced with fr anse cove, small bay in the name of the community, fr fr L'Anse aux Morts The Cove of the Dead, Dead Men's Cove. The phrase fr aux morts of the dead /o.mɔʁ/ was at some point corrupted to fr amour love /a.muʁ/, resulting in the hamlet's modern name fr L'Anse Amour The Cove Love; the nearby lighthouse is homologously named fr Point-Amour Love Point.fr need sources for etymology
