Bavarian
Etymology 1
From bar gmh backe, from bar goh backo. Further origin bar 1; note, however, the similarity to grc φᾰγεῖν eat, from ine-pro *bʰeh₂g- to divide, distribute (though the same non-trivial semantic shift occurring in two independent branches is unlikely), as well as la bucca. Cognate with de Backe.
Pronunciation

Noun

Etymology 2
From Early New High German bar backe, possibly related to Etymology 1. Compare typologically ru я́годица buttock, sh jагодица cheekbone (< sla-pro *agodica cheek). However, perhaps more likely related to gmw-pro *bak back (of the body), de Bache, and de Bank, and converged onto the same spelling and pronunciation as that of Etymology 1.
