Turkish
Etymology 1
Turkified version of the real name Aytech. From tr ady Айтэч or tr kbd Айтэч. Although it is a Turkic origin name, this specific usage is unique to Circassians and came to Turkey from Circassia. The name was altered to sound Turkish (resembling the Turkish words tr ay moon and tr tek single, only) in order to avoid Kemalist bans on non-Turkish names and to make it easier to pronounce.
Proper noun
tr male West Circassian, popular among Circassians in Turkey.
Etymology 2
A Neo-Turkish name, possibly derived from the Circassian name. Outside the Circassian community, it might also be a shortened form of the name Aytekin.
Proper noun
tr male
