Etymology
From a variant of fi joutsi bow bow or fi joutsi swan swan. In the sense bow, it may have originally been named after a strait (perhaps originally named fi *Joussalmi), with the initial element referring to its curved shape. The sense swan could derive via a name for a body of water.
