Usage notes
In Sinti usage, en Sintitikes refers to a language distinct from Romani (Rromanes) and not mutually intelligible with it.
In some academic and reference usage, it is classified as a variety of Romani; this classification is contested in Sinti usage.
The language preserves three grammatical genders inherited from Middle Indo-Aryan languages.
Sintitikes contains Sanskrit and Prakrit vocabulary not found in Romani.
