Etymology
borrowed Borrowed from rare enm xno Anjoie, possibly from enm la Andecāvia; although the development of fro aiuel and fro jaiole from la-lat *aviolum and la caveola 2 3 187 91 superficially indicates that the expected outcome of la Andecāvia would be xno *Anjaie (Late enm Aungeye probably reflects vowel reduction rather than a reflex of this; see enm caroyne), the form can be explained by either a divergent development of Proto-Romance /aβʲ/ when stressed or levelling of the /ɔ/ of fro Anjou (from la Andecāvum, la Andegāvum). Compare enm Angers, enm Anjow.
