Dutch
Etymology
First attested as dolreberchs hofstede in 1388. Etymology uncertain. Potentially derived from a compound of gem-pro *þulla beam, tree trunk and gem-pro *haru sandy ridge or gem-pro *heri place with a sandy ridge. An alternative hypothesis proposes a derivation from a term cognate to ofs dole hole, pit, ditch. Compare nl Dulder.
