From fit gmq-osw *roþs- related to rowing; related to fit non Roþrslandi the land of rowing, older name of en Roslagen, where the Finns and Swedes first met, from fit non roðr steering oar, from fit gem-pro *rōaną to row, from fit ine-pro *h₁reh₁- to row. See also under fi Ruotsi.
