German
Etymology
From de gmh schopz, gmh schöpz castrated male sheep, from a de zlw language, from de sla-pro *skopьcь eunuch, someone castrated, from the verb sla-pro *skopiti to castrate.
The restriction to sheep may be due to the phonetic similarity to gmh schāf sheep, but compare cs skopec castrated ram. Compare yi שעפּס sheep, ru скопе́ц eunuch.
