schere Schëre schære
German
Etymology
From de gmh schære, from de goh scāri, plural of goh scār, from de gmw-pro *skeran. The spelling with -e- (instead of de Schäre) is East Central German, probably reinforced by the related verb de scheren to shear. Cognate with nl schaar, en shears.
