Etymology
From the name of the river (fi Siuntionjoki), from fi sv Sjundeå. One theory is that the name comes from sv sjunde seventh + sv å river as the seventh river (east) of the Aura (Archipelago Sea) Aura river. However, it is more likely that it derives from a Swedish given name sv Sjunde, perhaps via a village name.
