bar oɐ̯
Etymology 1
bar goh gmw-pro 2
From bar gmh ei, from bar gem-pro *ajją. The diphthong bar oa is the regular Bavarian outcome of gmh ei (through a process of continuous backing/rounding of the onset and lowering of the offset; roughly [ɛi̯] > [äe̯] > [ɒɛ̯] > [oa̯]). The original plural was bar Oar, but bar -r is lost after bar oa in many dialects.
