Livonian
Etymology
Related to lv Dundaga. The place name is first attested as gml Donedange (compare later de Dondangen) in 1245, which hints that the -g- was originally a -ng- (Latvian also has a variant form lv Dundanga). Ultimate origin is liv 1; only etymologies suggesting Baltic origins (e.g. lv duonis reed + lv danga corner) have been proposed.
