fi koillinen koillis- northeast maa country, shortened from earlier fi Koillis-Pohjanmaa Northeastern Ostrobothnia. fi 1 Finnish author and journalist fi: Reino Rinne in the 1950s and popularized by the book series of the same name written by Kalle Päätalo.
