Etymology
First attested in Latin as la Drinus and Ancient Greek as grc Δρίλων. From sh xil *Drūn, ultimately from sh ine-pro *dreh₂- to run, to flow.
The change in the gender from masculine to feminine can be attributed by the masculine ending -us changing to -a in Illyrian and being wrongly considered as a feminine in Slavic (compare sh Sava and sh Drava).
