Etymology
Attested as ota bodi 1431, el Μποντάρι 1857. Unclear, perhaps from sq bg под ~ sq mk под under, or from the related sq pëndar field guardian. For the initial voicing compare sq bogaris. Compare related toponyms el Μπουδάρι in Greece and ro Podari in Romania.
Was proposed for renaming in 1938 into sq Borë, as a phonetic approximation, from sq borë snow.
