Alternative forms
Likely this a variant form of the stative endings egy .w or egy .wy or both; see egy .w for alternative forms.
In Old Egyptian, egy .w/egy .y and its variants were used for the masculine plural, while egy .tj and its variants were used for the feminine plural. By Middle Egyptian, egy .w/egy .y had taken on both roles, making plural egy .tj rare.
In Late Egyptian this form (egy .y) was also used for the masculine singular.
