German
Etymology
Early 19th century, from Austro-Bavarian and Bohemian dialects, of de 1 further origin. The two main theories are:
From a metathesis of de la armillaria with the ending influenced by the de cs - nominal suffix cs -ař.
From de bar hal im Oasch smooth in the arse, from bar hal, from de gmh hæle smooth, slippery, referring to the mushroom’s laxative effect. (Such interpretation is definitely attested, but might be folk etymology.)
