German
Etymology
Technically a compound of de Mist Wetter dung weather. Mist! is a rather common interjection equivalent to en crap. However, the word is not freely prefixed to nouns, which makes it seem likely that Mistwetter is originally "misty weather", pertaining to de gml mist mist. The association with de Mist dung would thus be secondary. Compare, on the other hand, compounds like de Mistkerl nasty guy, de Miststück mean person.
