Finnish
Etymology
fi krl - form of fi ru Яким. The municipality was presumably originally named fi Jaakkimanvaara (with fi vaara hill (large, forested) hill). Folk etymology derives the name of the municipality from Jacob De la Gardie, but (a variant of) the name is already attested when he was just a child, making this anachronistic.fi 2018 Lehikoinen, Laila Antreasta Äyräpäähän: Luovutetun Karjalan pitäjien nimet Kotimaisten kielten keskus 11–12 978-952-5446-93-7 https://kaino.kotus.fi/www/verkkojulkaisut/julk55/Antreasta_Ayrapaahan.pdf
