Dutch
Etymology
First attested as Budehop in 1835. Potentially a compound of nl boede cottage, shack, hovel and nl schop shed, warehouse. A proposed link to dialectal nl bolschup spade used to dig trenches in peat bogs does not match the oldest attestations of the toponym.
