Etymology
Named after Leonardo Bigollo Pisano a.k.a. Fibonacci (c. 1170 – c. 1240–1250).
Noun
en number theory The period (of repetition) of the sequence of Fibonacci numbers reduced modulo a given natural number (≥1); it can be considered to be a function π(n) where n is the modulus of reduction (see modular arithmetic) and the function returns the period (of the reduced Fibonacci sequence) corresponding to that given modulus.
