Usage notes
The suffix is added to the stem of the word (i.e. minus its final vowel, if any).
The suffix is often added to ending-stressed words. The stress is always drawn onto the preceding syllable.
Unstressed ru e normally becomes ru ё when stressed.
In some cases, a suffix is dropped, as in ru со́лнышко from ru со́лнце.
The normal plural is irregular ru -́ышки.
