Finnish
Etymology
fi huitti- nen, probably a derivative of fi gmq-osw hvīter white, which could have been used as a given name. The name of the town could derive from a farm name derived from the anthroponym, but may also have derived from the aforementioned Swedish word, originally given as a name to a body of water with 'white' (foaming) water, e.g. to a rapid.
