English
+ River
Etymology
From Georgian ენგური, derived from Old Georgian ეგური (eguri), the exact origin of which is disputed. According to one theory, the hydronym is from xmf გური heart, however, other sources derive it from ccs-gzn-pro *egr- (> ccs-gzn-pro *egur-), whence also ka ეგრისი Egrisi, ka მეგრელი Mingrelian. It has also been connected with xmf გერი wolf.
Proper noun
en river c/Georgia.
