Vietnamese
Etymology
vi A Vietnamese article seems to interpret rục as the word for "running stream from karst caves". See also vi Rục Làn, the name of a valley. I can't really find the autonym though. Since Rục keeps kəcaj³ ("paper") (cognate with Vietnamese vi giấy, ultimately of Sinitic origin), they probably became cave-dwellers not long enough for such words to be lost, or they maintained contacts with other local Vietic groups who kept being farmers and/or gatherers. In the wordlist of the May grammar, the Mày just calls them ɽŭk³.
