Egyptian
Pronunciation
Pronoun
stative p d 2p tyw-n
egy attached to a stative verb form you
Usage notes
Some authors have interpreted this morpheme as egy .tjwnj based on the Middle Egyptian form and extrapolated from the third-person stative endings to reconstruct a dual form egy *.tjwny; however, others suggest that egy .tjwnj is a later development and note that the only attested dual forms are written identically to the plural.
Another suggestion sometimes found is that the bird glyph in this morpheme could be read egy tw rather than its common value egy tjw, yielding egy .twn with variant egy .twnj.
