Luxembourgish
Etymology
From lb gmh hœhte, gmh hœhede, from lb goh hōhida, from lb gem-pro *hauhiþō; equivalent to lb héich -t. The Luxembourgish form is either from an early contraction (gmh *hœchte) or more probably from the archaic variant lb Héit by re-adaptation to the underlying adjective. Cognate with nl hoogte, en height.
