Usage notes
Surviving Egyptian accounts of the afterlife are primarily concerned with the myths and rituals necessary to allow the a person to continue existing in some form after death, but mentions of Duat seem to shift over the centuries from describing a land of the dead in the east (later improving to the paradisical Field of Reeds) to the underground land leading to it.
