Ahtna
Etymology
Partially from aht -laʼ hand. The second element is a stem ggan. Young and Morgan connect the equivalent stem in the Navajo cognate nv áláshgaan to nv -GAN to dry. However, Kari does not identify this term as being related to the cognate Ahtna root, aht ggan. In any case, cognate with nv áláshgaan, tfn veluggena and taa -logwna'.
