roboter
German
Etymology
Since 1922, de cs robot 1, in part through de en robot. The Czech was coined by Karel Čapek from cs robota serfdom, whence come also de Robot serfdom, de roboten to work as serf, toil. In fact, gmh - already had a noun gmh robater serf, but this was not continued. It is possible, however, that the German translator derived de Roboter from the verb de roboten -er (rather than directly from the Czech noun + suffix).
