Etymology
First attested as Oude kerk van Oosterwolde (afgebr[oken]) in 1830-1855. Compound of nl kerk church and nl dorp village, settlement. Formerly the village centre of nl kerk Oosterwolde. The church was moved at the beginning of the 19th century due to heightened risk of flooding.
