Etymology
lb gem-pro ine-pro 2 lb ine-pro *meh₁-
From a merger of lb gmh māne (from lb goh māno, from lb gmw-pro *mānō), and lb gmh mānōt (from lb goh mānōd, from lb gmw-pro *mānōþ).
The two words were merged throughout gmw-cfr - (compare gmw-cfr Mond moon; month). The distinction between Mound and lb Mount in current Luxembourgish spelling mirrors de Mond versus de Monat. The plural Mounden is a neologism also based on German.
