Etymology
From the calendar date 22. juli (“22 July”), read aloud as tjueandre juli (“the twenty-second of July”). Following the terrorist attacks of 22 July 2011, the date became a metonymic designation for the events themselves. The attacks consisted of a bombing in Regjeringskvartalet in Oslo and a mass shooting at the AUF summer camp on Utøya, killing 77 people.

It is so easy, so comfortable to say that an attack against someone is an attack against everyone. But just as 22 July was an attack on the Labour Party and AUF, 25 June was an attack on queer people.
