English Etymology Popularized by a July 2020 Twitter tweet by Michael B. Tager (@IamRageSparkle) explaining how he had once witnessed a bartender expell a non-disruptive customer whose "vest … was all nazi shit" because "you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too. And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now.["]Twitter, 8 July 2020"Bartender's Explanation For Kicking Out A Nazi Reminds Us Not To Tolerate Intolerance", The Daily Dot, 16 July 2020 Pronunciation en LL-Q1860 (eng)-Flame, not lame-Nazi bar.wav US [ˈnɑtsɪi̯ ˌbɑɹ] Noun en Internet slang A space in which bigots or extremists have come to dominate due to a lack of moderation or by moderators wishing to remain neutral or avoid conflict. en 16 October 2020 sojaro 1316904380851945472 Social media platforms are virtual monopolies only by the virtue that alternatives immediately establish themselves as either "hug boxes" or "nazi bars". https://web.archive.org/web/20230911002428/https://twitter.com/sojaro/status/1316904380851945472 11 September 2023 en 9 September 2021 vjpsyverson 1435989047155982343 Val Syverson I’d venture to say this is especially important reading for those of us who formed our opinions on this topic before the New Atheist movement became a Nazi bar. https://web.archive.org/web/20231212200208/https://twitter.com/vjpsyverson/status/1435989047155982343 12 December 2023 en 12 January 2022 AlienRopeBurn 1481299368733028361 Julian Kay Tabletop Simulator's forums and community have essentially melted under the blazing bigot influx at this point.
