Etymology
Of en xlg - origin. Related to the name la Veleiates, though it is unclear if these are the same group referred to differently by ancient historians or two slightly different but related groups. Probably of en cel - origin: Encyclopédie Celtique suggests that the name means "the honest ones," "the best ones," from en cel-pro *wellos desirable, good.
Mommsen instead prefers an en itc -, specifically en xum - origin, though he does not list any meaning.https://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/rome/1-08-umbro-sabellian-samnites.asp#:~:text=inference%20regarding%20their%20extension%20in,of%20an%20Italian%20population%20having
