Finnish
Etymology
From fi ilma air ri. A Pre-Christian given name, revived as a given name in the 19th century, inspired by fi Ilmarinen, the skillful smith in the Kalevala. Has sometimes also been considered to contain an old sense of the word fi ilma, god, found in other Uralic languages but not any of the Finnic ones (like Finnish).

Lapset olivat todella saaneet suomalaiset nimet, vieläpä Kalevalasta. Tyttöä sanottiin kuitenkin Aniksi. The rest of the people did actually like of the natural Ilmari. Miss Aino on the other hand was always reserved, even as a child. The children had gotten very Finnish names, straight from the Kalevala. The girl was usually called Ani, however.
