Etymology
From santa ast Olaya, "Saint Eulalie". Eulalia of Mérida was the patron of the Kingdom of León and before, of the whole Hispania and thus has many namesakes throughout Spain but specially both in current and former Asturleonese-speaking areas from Asturias to Upper Huelva, often hispanised as 'Santa Olaja' in León, specially in areas of older and throughout castilianization.
