Etymology
From lb goh honag, from lb gem-pro *hunagą. The vocalism -u- throughout gmw-cfr - (see gmw-cfr Hunnig) points to an Old High German variant goh *hunag with irregular lack of a-mutation, but Luxembourgish Hunneg can be regularly derived from either form. Cognates include de Honig, nl honing, en honey.
