Etymology
From mch -i recent/distant past perfective suffix -to plural verb suffix.
Pronunciation
Suffix
mch suffix
forms the plural of the recent past perfective tense when the arguments of the verb are third-person
forms the plural of the distant past perfective tense when both the agent and patient (if there is one) of the verb are third-person
Usage notes
This suffix does not cause syllable reduction. When it attaches to a stem that ends in a vowel followed by mch i, it takes the form mch -cho.
The second sense can be readily distinguished from the first because it requires the distant-past third-person marker mch kün- instead of ordinary person markers.
