Usage notes
Adjectives formed using en -less often form nouns by the addition of en -ness (e.g. en helplessness), but generally do not form nouns by the addition of other noun-forming endings.
A notable exception to the usual usage of this suffix is that en doubtless is usually an adverb, rather than an adjective.
Synonyms
lacking en an-, en ex-, en -free
Antonyms
lacking en -ed, en -y, en -some (having in considerable amount), en -ful (having in abundance)
