Etymology
Eventually from lb goh meinunga, but borrowed from or at least influenced by lb de Meinung. The -ee- reflects the phonetic development of eastern Luxembourgish dialects (and of bordering German Central Franconian) in which the cognate of German de meinen to have an opinion has the form lb meenen, rather than the general Luxembourgish lb mengen.
