Etymology
Probably from fi *Raisjo, shortened from fi *Raisjoki, fi *Raisajoki, fi *Reisjoki (the original name of the nearby river now called fi Raisionjoki). The latter part fi joki river is well known, but the initial component is of fi unknown origin; Heikkilä (2021) implies that it derives from fi reisi.46
