Old Armenian
Etymology
Two possibilities exist. May be a variant of xcl -ոտ, derived from xcl *հուտ, an alternative form of xcl հոտ. Alternatively, from supposed xcl ine-pro *-ōd-ēs with grc -ώδης as a cognate; compare grc ἀμαθώδης sandy from grc ἄμαθος sand.
